伊達政宗は、豊臣秀吉、徳川家康、徳川秀忠、徳川家光と多くの天下人に使えました。
もし、伊達政宗があと10年早く生まれていたならば、天下はだれのものになっていたかはわからなかっただろうと言われるほど、
伊達政宗の器量は優れていたと言われています。天下が徳川氏に定まると、伊達政宗は一大名として徳川氏に仕えるようになります。
それは、牙をぬかれた竜ではなく、牙をかくした竜でした。徳川氏からあなどられず、かといって恐れられず。
伊達政宗は徳川氏にとってそのような存在となりました。
ある意味において、戦争の時代から平和の時代への道しるべを作った人物といえます。
「伊達男」という言葉の語源にもなった人物です。

Date Masamune served for Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Tokugawa Ieyasu, Tokugawa Hidetada, and Tokugawa Iemitsu. Masamune was talented person, so we have never known who conquered the country if he was born 10 years earlier. After the Tokugawa started taking control the country, Masamune also started serving for the Tokugawa. It meant that it was not the dragon being pulled out fangs but the dragon hiding fangs. Never been look down on and never been feared by the Tokugawa. Masamune became such a being for the Tokugawa. In a way, he is the man who made a sign on the path from the war time to the peace. He is also the man who is the origin of a word, “Date otoko.”
ZIPANG made an armor of Date Masamune with such legend elaborately miniaturized. Giving more than a passing thought to heroic stories of men running through the Sengoku period, please enjoy your favorite sake.
